Deliccato is coming, so you'd better be ready. Their refreshing brand of acoustic/electronic pop packs a double punch, both in their live shows which have been described as "riveting and unexpected" and in their "crystal clear" recordings, skillfully recorded by "mastermind" Camden Chamberlain. Deliccato's "completely original musical outtakes are so artistically intricate that the stars (are) the least of things (deliccato) shoots for. The overall span of (the) music reaches out to electronic, indie, punk, and rock lovers alike."
Deliccato was born into its first incarnation in January 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia. It started out as an experimental electronic recording collective with Camden Chamberlain as the producer and figurehead. The moniker Deliccato was settled upon over a fine Italian meal where delicato brand wine was the drink of choice.
During 2001 Deliccato released two albums entitled "Stream" (a reference to their method of 'stream of consciousness' composing) and "Goodbye Adalanda" (released around the same time Camden moved away from Atlanta, GA) respectively.
In January 2002 Camden relocated to London for a two-month recording stint with songwriter Tim Phillips and producer Jeremy Parsons (son of the legendary Alan Parsons). Many of the songs written and recorded there would later find their way into the Deliccato live show.
The latest and most well defined incarnation of Deliccato came into being in October 2003. This new live/recording lineup features Camden Chamberlain, Alex Pappas, Scott Fetzer, Aaron Nelson, and Lindsay Heath.
Camden Chamberlain (vocals/guitar) brings an obsessive and ambitious recording philosophy to the band as well as "rich vocal contributions" and a "virtuoso display of consumable sound".
Alex Pappas (bass/backing vocals) holds down the low end with a concrete sense of both rhythm and melody, always with an ear for what works best for the particular song. He also brings a refined songwriting aesthetic whilst looking like David Cross singing backup vocals.
Scott Fetzer (lead guitar/vocals) comes to the band bursting with musical creativity that tends to stray from the pop/rock norm. His guitar styling's are unique and flavorful, and his voice ranges from "climbing the rafters" to a falsetto which has been described as sounding like a "little Japanese pop diva".
Aaron Nelson (drums) comes complete with a flare for many different rhythmic styles, including dub, Latin, and drum n bass. His love of producing electro beats both on drum machines and in a live setting fit perfectly with Deliccato's history of creating innovative electronic music. Besides his fine rhythmic sensibilities he also has an intuitive ear for arrangements.
Lindsay Heath (synthesizer) is the secret weapon. Her contributions on the keys propel the music ever further away from the typical rock sound and into the realms of experimental electro/acoustic pop. Somewhere deep inside of her there has always been a born-in-the-80's-video-game-nerd waiting to burst out and it has done so in the form of many of her heartfelt synth lines.
In summation ladies and gentlemen, Deliccato is a band of love.
